The short version: KickPulse uses Google Analytics cookies to count visits and see which pages are used. Our advertising landing page, kickpulse.org/go, also uses the Google Ads tag, which sets advertising cookies so we can measure our ads. Apart from these, KickPulse stores nothing in your browser.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website can store in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, can be used for the same purposes. They are often used to remember settings, measure visits or show targeted advertising.
2. What we use
| Type | Used on KickPulse? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary cookies | No | The site works without any. |
| Preference cookies | No | Filters and tabs reset when you leave a page. |
| Analytics cookies | Yes | Google Analytics sets _ga and _ga_PPPB7V1YDZ to count visits. Not set for visitors in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland. |
| Advertising cookies | Ad landing page only | The Google Ads tag on kickpulse.org/go sets cookies such as _gcl_au. Not set for visitors in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland. |
| Local or session storage | No | KickPulse saves nothing in your browser. |
3. Third-party services
We load our typefaces from Google Fonts. Google Fonts does not set cookies on KickPulse, but when your browser downloads the font files Google receives your IP address and browser information. Google describes how it handles this data in its privacy policy.
Our advertising landing page, kickpulse.org/go, loads the Google Ads tag (gtag.js). It sets advertising cookies, such as _gcl_au (kept for about 90 days), so we can see how many people reach the page from our ads and send an enquiry, and so Google can show our ads to people who have visited it. Google receives your IP address, browser information and the pages you visit there. You can turn off personalised ads in Google My Ad Center, and Google explains how it uses this data in How Google uses information from sites that use its services. For visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland the tag runs without advertising cookies.
Every page of KickPulse loads Google Analytics (gtag.js). It sets the cookies _ga and _ga_PPPB7V1YDZ (kept for up to 2 years) so we can count visits and see which pages and links are used and how people arrive at the site. Google receives your IP address, browser and device information and the pages you view; we don’t send Google your name, phone number or email. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. For visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google Analytics runs without cookies.
4. If this changes
If we add other non-essential cookies, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before setting them.
5. Managing cookies
Every major browser lets you see, block and delete cookies in its settings. Blocking cookies won’t affect how KickPulse works.
